About this award

A community foundation scholarship for graduating local high school students who have been involved in theatre, music, dance or other arts. Selection looks at effort, teamwork, kindness and personal growth more than marks. Students do not need to study the arts after high school.

Who can apply

  • Graduating from a local secondary school
  • Plans to start post-secondary education in the school year after graduating
  • Involved in the arts (theatre, music, dance or other creative pursuits)
  • Shows a strong work ethic, personal growth and commitment to helping others
  • Marks may be considered but are not the main factor

What to submit

  • Application form
  • Five short written answers (about 100 to 200 words each)
  • Graduating and post-secondary school names, plus averages if available
  • One reference
  • Submit by the deadline (the Foundation page says by email by 5 p.m.; the form says return it to Student Services)
