About this award

Nipissing University gives automatic entrance scholarships to students coming straight from high school, based on the average of their best six final 4U/4M courses. Awards range from $1,000 a year at 80 to 84% up to free domestic tuition at 95% and above, for up to four years. There is no separate application. To keep it, students take at least 24 credits a year and maintain the matching average; falling short moves the student to a lower tier.

Who can apply

  • Canadian and international applicants coming directly from secondary school for September or January entry
  • Average of at least 80% on best six final 4U/4M courses (co-op courses do not count), or IB score of 30 or more
  • High school applicants from other Canadian provinces are also eligible
  • Not available in the Consecutive Education, College Partnership (Commerce and BBA) or Nursing Scholar Practitioner programs
  • Cannot be held together with the Chancellor's Award, NU FIRST Robotics Scholarship, President's Scholarship, Upper Year Carl Sanders Award or Schulich Scholarship
  • To renew: at least 24 credits each Fall/Winter and keep the matching cumulative average; students who fall short move down a tier (never up), and below 80% ends the scholarship

What to submit

  • No separate scholarship application; apply for full-time admission to Nipissing
  • Final marks in best six 4U/4M courses (or final IB score) completed by June 30
