About this award
A $1,000 bursary from the Near North District School Board for Grade 11 and 12 students at NNDSB high schools who plan to go into the skilled trades. Students must be in a co-op placement in a skilled trade and facing financial or other barriers to finishing high school. Students apply online through the board's bursary website.
Who can apply
- Enrolled at an NNDSB secondary school in Grade 11 or 12
- Facing financial and/or other barriers to completing the OSSD
- In a co-op program and has earned, or is earning, 2 credits in a skilled trade placement
- Plans a post-secondary pathway and career in the skilled trades
- Has shown leadership in the trade, such as mentoring, attending a conference or sharing experiences with other students
- Students who already have their OSSD and returned for extra credits are not eligible
